And the first one is done. There is no tolerance mentioned on the plans but, the machine I am using is very accurate and so I was able to machine this to a tolerance of pretty much +/- 0. I machined the depth of the lens bore to be 1.25 inches exactly, so the retaining plate should fit against it to bolt it down. The inside diameter of 8 inches I machined + 0.5 mm. In other words, there is half a millimeter clearance around the lens. I don’t know how accurate the lenses will be when I get them. So I’m assuming they will be exactly 8”. If they are, they should fit perfectly. I won’t be able to adjust anything once these are fitted, so I hope this is correct. |
