Automatic Overpressure Valve

16/05/09

I drilled the valve body centre hole in the lathe to ensure it was exactly in the centre.  Then made a paper template and carefully marked out the 8 vent holes.  I used a 5mm Dormer Cobalt Steel drill and then 9mm HSS.  The Dormer drills are really good for stainless and I have used the same 5mm bit for all these and the holes on the pod rings without incident.  Next I will face the valve body and turn it down to the correct size.  It will be then ready for the spring and washer assembly that will hold it together and control the cracking pressure.
