My new welder has arrived.  Brand new straight out of the box.  I just fitted a shielding gas bottle to it.  It wasn't cheap, but I need to get on with things at my parents rather than waiting to get into the workshop.

It’s a Lincoln 250amp MIG/MAG.  It takes up to 1.2mm mild/stainless and flux cored wire and is able to weld up to 8mm plate.  I’m using BOC “Argoshield Universal” which is Argon with 12% Co2 and 2% O2.  I haven't tried it yet as I’m still waiting for Guernsey electricity to wire up the new 63amp socket I’ve had to install at my parents house to cope with it.  Progress has been slow so far as I’ve not been able to get into the workshop due to holidays etc, so the arrival of this machine should hopefully speed things up.  I’m still plodding on welding the rings together.  I’ve done 3 of the 7 now.
