This is the underwater communications kit that I have bought from Amron through psubs (you get a discount).  It’s a single sideband radio kit normally used for communicating with divers or diving bells.  On the left is the SSB-2010 waterproof diver unit with the surface conversion kit installed.  The transducer normally fits to the top of the SSB-2010 but with the kit, its just on the long cable instead.  This will be dangled over the side of the boat.  The headphones replace the diver regulator speech kit.

On the right is the SP100D2 “Buddy Phone” which will be mounted in the sub.  The transducer will pass through the subconn bulkhead connector to the outside.

This will allow boat (using SSB-2010 with surface kit) to talk to the sub (using SP100D2).

I did it this way because if my brother decides to buy the regulator mouthpiece kit then we can talk sub to diver or he can use the kit when diving to talk diver to boat (with the surface kit moved onto the boat).

The cost is almost the same between the 2 units.  You could actually use two x SSB-2010 units with surface kits as well, or 2 x SP100D2’s.  The units all seem well made and all the parts are interchangeable.  Came with a nice bag to keep it all in as well.
