I made a stainless box to hold the motor controllers.  I was tempted to just mount the top parts of the outboard motors as they were into the sub and control the motors from them, but I felt they would have taken up too much room.  So, I removed the innards, It’s a bit more work, but I think better to do it this way. 

Once you strip away the housing, the controller is just a board, easily mounted inside a box.  The potentiometers will fit through the lid, allowing me to control the motor speed.  Battery level indicators will protrude also.  I’ll probably need to add an on\off switch to each motor plus relays.
