I bought the CO2 scrubber as a kit from Ai Research. Someone else has already done a good build log of this kit so there is little point in me repeating it. It was straight forward to assemble. http://www.psubs.org/projects/1239373450/airesearchscrubberkit/ Just a couple of things worth noting. I added 2 “D” handles to the top to assist in opening the lid. I just happened to have some spare. Added a 30mm (I think) pipe connector to fit an outlet hose to. Added a 24v green led light so I can see when the scrubber is powered on. I also insulated the connection socket as it was wired with negative earth. I drilled out the hole bigger and fitted a Delrin plug. I agree there would have to be some fault for it to cause a problem, but it could have opened up a connection to the negative battery terminal through the hull if something live came adrift and contacted the hull. I am trying to be careful not to get any shorts. I don’t like the silly angle it’s mounted at, but it’s the best place for it to fit at the moment. It won’t quite stand up straight with the scuba tanks where I have put them. Possibly an adjustment needed, some other time. |
