Submersible Build Log

The hatch viewport is different.  The lens is bevelled and sits directly onto the viewport face.  I applied plenty of silicone grease to the surface.  There is then an O ring which fits into the small gap in between the lens and the seat.  I was thinking that I would have to machine a slight bevel onto the lens in order to accommodate the O ring, but the groove was just about right.  This was by fluke, rather than by design.  Then I fitted the neoprene\cork and epdm gaskets the same as the other viewports.

I am sealing the hatch port this way rather than sticking the port in so that if I become incapacitated inside, someone will be able to undo the 6 bolts, pop out the lens and release the hatch.
