I did not make the trays exactly as per the plans. In the end, the batteries sit on the pod floor and the tray is around the batteries so they are enclosed in the steel frame.  This is due to my alternative pod sealing arrangement. The trays didn’t quite slide in with the batteries on.  I could have adjusted it all but I thought it would be ok to do this.  I kept it simple, so a 316 stainless ratchet strap holds the batteries all down lengthways (note the special foam pad between the battery and the ratchet).  The 4 batteries are held solid and I am very confident that they are not going to move no matter how hard the boat is bashed around   But, they were quite difficult to install one at a time.  I think the standard tray would be easier for installation and maintenance.  Better still would be some sort of rail, to make it more like a drawer.  A job for another time.  For now this is awkward but perfectly ok.  The boat is live.
