This is linkage for the variable tank main valve. I didn’t want to have the handle in the middle of the deck so decided to move the valve control somwehere else via a link system. Initially I made a curved bar with a handle that went through a piece of angle bolted to the hull ribs. It was “ok” and did work, but it awkward to operate, scrappy and I didn’t really like it. I propped it into place where it would have gone for the photo (top picture). So, I remade another linkage which took ages to make and was a complete pain. Again, its “ok”, but a bit hard to turn. Some sort of longer arm with more leverage would be better. But it will have to do for now, I might remake it “some other time”. It’s better than the first effort. The middle picture is with the deck in place. I had to router out loads of bits from the underneath and chop bits out of the bracing bars. Took ages. I am going to get some sort of round knob to put on the longer lever bar to make it easier to turn. Bottom picture shows the through hull that it operates. |
